Hallelujah!!
Nov. 7th, 2004 05:41 pmHi there!
Oh my goodness! I feel like I haven't posted in FOREVER!!! Heehee! I just came back from ACDA last night. It was pretty fun! On Thursday when we got there, after the first rehersal, we went to Applebee's because it was right next door to the hotel. It was Kareoke night! Sweet! But we sang "Bohemian Rhapsody, which I don't know. We should have sung "Wanna B" from the Spice Girls. It was actually the most populous option.
I even made a new friend this weekend! Her name is (brace yourself) Ashley. Yep, I have ANOTHER Ashley friend. But never fear, it's all good! It was pretty cool how we became friends. She came up to me on Thursday, the day we arrived, and she was like "I love your outfit!" and I was like,
"Thank you!" Then the next day I came up to her and was like "I LOVE your jacket!!" and she's like,
"Thanks, I love your earring!" Heehee! It was practically the same when we met the next day. It was pretty fun. So, after the concert, we exchanged e-mail adresses. I typed it into my adress book, but it said that it was an unknown name. Maybe I spelled it wrong. That sucks. :\ Well, she may send me an e-mail and then I can get her adress right! Yay!
On Friday night, there was this big discrepancy about whether or not to go to the concert in which Mrs. Sparks was performing. No one wanted to go, but we were worried about what Mrs. Sparks would think if none of us showed up to see her. We decided not to. We all went to the mall instead and ate in the food court and went shopping! It was so fun! I hung out with Emily, Kelle and Michael. We all got a good deal on Chinese food. 2 chickens and 2 sides for $3.99! Sweet! Later, we went to Hot Topic (holler!), American Eagle and a few other stores, including Payless and the doller store. I got a cool red jacket, a cool black quill pen and a Jack Skellington scarf from Hot Topic, a cutesy black, off-the-shoulder sweater from American Eagle and a mood ring from the dollar store (and a pair of cool goggles from 7Eleven the night before). We had so much fun! But just as we were about to leave, we lost Zach, a freshman. (We're both trained under the Almighty Loud!) Luckily, we found him and we all went back to the hotel and stayed in Autumn's room, talking. We wanted to see how she was doing; she came down with some strange illness that day and wasn't able to come to rehersal. We ended up staying there until anout 1:00 am! Mrs. Sparks came by to see how Autumn was doing also. It was nice to see her, surprisingly. We had a few laughs and she decided to go to bed at around 11:00. That was such a good night! I feel connected to the sophomors and the seniors on a new and farmiliar level. Feels good!
Dude! guess what! I'VE BEEN SAVED!!! Yes! It was so funny! We were on our way home last night and two charter busses filled to the brim with Christian guys with this Christian organization were all at this rest stop on the outskirts of Orlando waiting in line for Burger King. The kids from my school and I waited until the line died down a bit and I jumped in line just to get some fries. All of a sudden, this guy named Everett starts talking to me and my friends Emily and Kelle. He starts telling us about his organization, then he tells us about how he discovered that he had a relationship with Jesus. It was this really long story and he just kept rambling on and on; Emily and I stopped paying attention half-way through. So, after his story, Emily and Kelle took off; I figured anyone'd want to get away from this nut. But I was stuck there! Sipping on a strawberry cremé frappuchino from Starbucks and buying french fries! He started telling me that I could be forgiven for all of my sins; all I needed to do was to give my heart to God. I was just smiling and nodding as if I agreed with him. He's like, "Do you go to church?" I told him I had very little time to go to church being that I work and have 3 AP classes to keep up. He appearently got the idea that I was bound for Hell. He'd established that Emily and Kelle had been saved before they bolted, but he probably figured "oh, I'd better save the poor black girl as well." He was practically ignoring me untill the other girls left. Then he's like, "Repeat after me," and he had me repeat this prayer. At the end he's like "Congratulations, you've been saved! I'm happy for you!" On the outside, I was like "Thanks! ::twitch:: (I guess)" but on the inside, I was like "Dude, whatever. You're a freak." He even wrote down for me the date and time at which I was saved on my receipt. It said:

Yeah, he got my name wrong. The people at ACDA got it wrong too. I TOLD that man my name. I said "ALEXA". Did I SAY Alexis?! No, I don't think so! God, people are so stupid!
...But I digress. A little later, my friend Michael came up with a container of Potty Putty. Everett told him that "God has a plan for you". His response was priceless!
"God has a plan for ME? Wow, that is SO amazing! I like God!" Everett, suspecting that he was being mocked, said
"Yes, God is good. You should love God."
Just then, Chris called to me, "Alexa, c'mon, we have to go to Temple!" It was so funny!
Emily, Kelle and I talked about it on the car ride home. It was one of the most comedically priceless moments in my life. XD
Whew!...So yeah. I had fun. Heehee! I'm sure I still left something out there; I went back to add stuff every two seconds. Heehee! I guess the only thing I didn't add was my nostalgic comparisons of this event to last year's ACDA... (if you don't know what I mean and you should, then maybe you just forgot. ::points at culprit:: That means you!! Heehee! Well, I'll post again, hopefully, soon.
