Hello every one!

My weekend has shaped up to be a pretty interesting one. Yesterday I could not seem to get a chance to see my husband at all. He came in to work on my lunch break so we were only there simultaneously for half of my work day. On top of that, they made him level the shelves the whole time! I didn't even get to see him when we were both on the floor. Not to mention my work day today, where I had to go in at 7:30 IN THE MORNING!! The waking up part wasn't so bad, but I just hate the fact that it's so hot outside that I have to wear shorts, shorts that can only be issued by the store. The problem is that these shorts are rediculous. The waist is too high and the crotch is too short. It is VERY uncomfortable. I can't walk five paces in those shorts without getting a major wedgie the size of the Grand Canyon! They're also a little too short. The cut is the least flattering length I have ever seen for my legs in my entire life! Oh God! They look so retarded! I could burn them, but then I'd have to broil in my long pants. It's a tough decision to make, actually. I'm STILL waiting for them to teach me how to use the cash register so I can stay inside all day like Aaron can. Being a bagger is really starting to take a toll on me! I want more! I want to be a cashier! I want to wear the cute little green vest with the cute little blue bow tie!!! (those grey t-shirts are an eye-sore!) I'm just a little spent with those cart duty time periods. This morning (I only had to work 3 hours, thank God!) it was so hot outside! If you ask me, it's too early in the morning for it to be that hot! My cart duty was excrutiatingly agonizing. To top it all off, I had run out of short sleeved t-shirts so I had no choice but to wear the long-sleeved one my dad gave me. The one I was keeping to wear during WINTER! Let's just say that I took a shower before I went to work and immediately took another one when I got home. I'm so sick of going to work and coming home reeking of B.O.! I really need a desk job or something. Before Shariyfa went to North Carolina (she's back by the way. Yay!) she had the perfect job: she answered telephones for Access gating and whatnot in a nice cool office with a TV and internet access and big, soft, spinny, leather chairs! I got to go with her occasionally; it was one of those jobs where you could bring a friend to hang out with and nobody cares. We'd watch the FoxBox in the mornings and once we played chess online with this guy from The midwest. It was awesome! The only job was to answer the phone and say some stuff and do some stuff on the system's unit or whatever. It was the PERFECT JOB! She got pretty good pay too! I remember before I got my job, she was always loaded and I was always broke. Heehee! Those were the days!

Well, in addition to my job at the grocery store, You may remember my mentioning being a baby sitter on occasion. It has been such a long time since I got to babysit and I finally got to do it again tonight. It started out just fine, but near the end of the night, one little girl took a turn for the worst. Little Rachel Townend started to have some issues. In the middle of my time there, she said something that really shocked me. Her older sister Olivia and twin brother Robbi had just left to go to Olivia's room. Rachel was picking up puzzle pieces to take with her and she said to me "Olivia's not gonna let you in her room because you're black." A little taken aback, I replied,
"Who says?"
"I say!" she answered. Hearing this statement shocked me. I was apauled to hear such talk from such a little kid (she's only 4). Her being so young probably hindered her reasoning and understanding how such a statement might hurt some other little kid's feelings. I was just glad I wasn't her age: I probably would have beat her down. Heehee! The odd thing about it was of all my years (2) babysitting Rachel and Robbi, neither of them had shown any symptoms of budding racism. Mikey and Olivia, the two older children hadn't shown any such evidence of this either. Rachel was the only one. Her mother did tell my mom that Rachel was shaping up to be quite the bad girl. Robbi is just as sweet as can be! It leaves me in question as to who or what could possibly have instilled this idea in her head. I doubt it was her parents. Perhaps it was a friend at school who influenced her so. Since her mom and my mom work together, my mom volunteered to tell Rachel's mom of this comment. I didn't really get a chance to mention it to her tonight, I didn't want to do it with the kids around.

On top of that, about 20 minutes before their mother came home, Rachel started to get really mean. I noticed that her pants wre really wet and I asked her how they got that way. When Olivia pointed out that she had wet her pants, Rachel got really defensive. Olivia soon started to yell "Get out of my room, Rachel! You're gonna make it smell like pee!" Rachel sat down unknowingly on one of Olivia's big stuffed animals, where she proceeded to kick my legs. When I told her to stop and she didn't, I grabbed her ankles so she'd stop. For a while, it didn't work; she just started screaming "I want my mommy!" So, I told her that if she didn't stop kicking me, I wouldn't let go of her ankles. The whole time Olivia was still shouting "Rachel! Get out of my room!!!" Eventually, she stopped just as her mom came home. When Mom came home, it was quite a funny sight.
"Mommy!" Olivia said. "Rachel was being mean and kicking Robbi and Lexie!" Rachel got in trouble. It was funny. I was gonna give her a beatin', but I didn't think it appropriate to spank someone else's kid, although she deserved it (kicking is bad! We don't kick people!)

On the highlights of the day, I got to go to Jerry's Artarama today and I got a set of colorful Sakura 005 pens, 3 white china markers and a giant clip board thingy!! I'm so happy! Now I can continue my practice of visual art! (I'll never be able to take a class anyway). Yay for me expanding my horizons!!!

Well.... See ya!
