Alright, you guys! This time I really mean it!

I'm getting my licence today! Woot! I can't wait! I made an appointment and evertthing! In an hour and 40 minutes, I'm due down there to wow my driving instructor and be awarded with my very own official driver's licence! Oh, the excitement! Just wanted to let everyone know that I won't be a lisenceless bum taking the bus all the time anymore. ^_^ Now it'll be "mom, can I borrow your car?" Yay! I'm just so excited!

Last week, I made a vow to myself that I'm never going over to my friend's house ever again without guarantee of a ride. I'm NOT taking the bus to her God-forsaken house ever again! Especially since every time I go over there, she wants me to spend the night. She even asks me to bring my laptop with me so she can check her Myspace. When she moved from her old apartment (which was right across the street from my house) she left her computer with Charles, her mom's ex-boyfried. I don't think I'm gonna be lugging my computer over there anymore, with or without a car, especially since I don't even get wireless internet connection there. She's just gonna have to wait until she gets her own computer to check her Myspace.

Another reason I'm not going over there without a car is simply the fact that her mom is extremely irritable lately. I dunno if it's her recent break-up or what, but it seems like she flies off the handle a lot easier. Last week when I was over there, my friend told me that I had to leave the house by 3:00 because her mom wanted to be "alone" when she got off work. Not to mention my friend had to be at work at 3:00. The week before that, her mom totally lost it when she came home because the house wasn't spotless. I won't go into too much detail, but I just wish that her mom wasn't so selfish. Yeah, she works all the time, but that doesn't mean that she has to treat her daughters like Cinderellas. I agree with her to a certain extent: She doesn't deserve to be worked so many hours at her job and then come home and have to clean the house and cook dinner. But then again, it's extremely selfish to expect everything exactly the way you want it when you get home and if it's not to go berserk on your family! My mom never treats me like a slave in my own house, but albeit she does ask and require certain things of me. If I don't do them, she doesn't lose her temper. She'll obviously be upset, but it's nothing serious. In my friend's case two weeks ago, her mom was fuming because dinner wasn't made when she got home. And it was only 4:00! Not only was it a strange request for that time of day, but she was being tyrannical about it. "Where's my dinner?! I haven't eaten anything all day!" (whose fault is that?) My friend made it clear that she hadn't expected to do the dinner until at least 5 or 6 because she had never been asked to make it before then. After all, it's not like my friend doesn't have a job too. It's not totally fair that she should have to go to her mall job and then come home and clean the house if time permits. If not, her sister is in charge of cleaning the entire house by herself. Then their mom comes home and sits on the couch and expects to be waited on hand and foot. And this occurs almost daily! My mom will normally clean the house herself, with help from my dad and me, of course! I do the kitchen and sometimes one bathroom, my dad does yard and repair work, and my mom takes care of the rest. Also, we're not constantly cleaning the house. A house doesn't need to be cleaned every single day. Once a week should suffice. If they cleaned their house once a week, all my friend's family's problems would be solved! We usually take turns dealing with dinner. If mom doesn't feel like cooking, I'll cook, or my dad will go and get something. It's that simple! It's called teamwork! It shouldn't have to be grunt work.

So! Thus is the excitment that is my driver's lisence! Yay! I gotta go get ready for my big day!

Ciao! ^_^
